Pastels

My pastels of birds come from what I know and feel of them rather than just their physical reality. I see birds as symbols as well as beautiful physical ceatures and have always had a love for them. I have found pastels to be the perfect medium to capture both the ethereal and down to earth qualities I believe they possess.

Although these images don't come from direct observation in the moment, they arise from the reorganizing of much direct observation in the field and often from very precise and specific memories.
